What's new in Odoo 16?

Odoo 16 was launched in October at Odoo Experience 2022. The focus this year was on the speed of the powerful software to optimize your workflows. But there are other features and improvements which are also worth a closer look! So, here are some of the best and biggest implementations of the new Odoo version:

Performance

Loading and rendering in the backend is almost 4 times faster. Loading Controllers on websites and eCommerce stores is almost 3 times faster.

User Experience

Odoo adapts even more to your needs with context-based custom fields, and your interface always remains clear and informative, thanks to a redesigned command palette and spreadsheet-based reports.

New Pricing Model

Odoo also has a different approach to pricing that is true to the principles: fast, simple and fully integrated.

Dark Mode

Work how and when you want: Dark Mode lets you further customize your Odoo applications to suit your needs in any situation.

Automatic Saving

No more annoying confirmations. Now you can work without interruption as Odoo now saves each step automatically.

Improved Emailing

By archiving unused mail servers and the possibility to unsubscribe from email overviews, you send and receive only important emails. Easier customization and resetting of email templates make your emails even more personalized.

New App: Knowledge

The new Knowledge app offers you, your colleagues and your employees the opportunity to educate yourself and learn from and with each other.



Here, ideas can be collected, expanded and even enriched with media (images, videos...) and documents.

Simultaneous editing allows everyone to add their thoughts and knowledge at any time.

Accounting

With the new functions in Odoo Accounting, detailed work steps can be displayed and automated.

Odoo Barcode has received additional and important functions that better capture the work steps and make the software work meaningfully for its users.

  • Deleting individually scanned products from picking
  • Filtering transfers by scanning packages or transfer barcodes
  • Set mandatory and optional steps

The improvements in the Barcode App are particularly aimed at avoiding duplication and extra work.
